Founding of Constructa
Heinrich Reining founded the Peter Pfenningsberg GmbH in Düsseldorf-Oberkassel. Engineer Peter Pfenningsberg developed Germany's first fully automatic household washing machine with a glazed front door, the so-called "porthole".
Presentation at Constructa Fair
The first Constructa washing machine is presented at the "Constructa" construction exhibition in Hannover. The brand name was inspired by this fair.
Move to Ratingen-Lintorf
The company moved to Ratingen-Lintorf to meet increased production requirements. This enabled a significant expansion of production capacity.
Renaming to Constructa-Werke GmbH
The company is renamed to Constructa-Werke GmbH and becomes the leading German provider of fully automatic washing machines in the 1950s and 1960s.
Acquisition by Siemens
Constructa is acquired by Siemens and integrated into the BSH Group. In 1969, production is moved to Berlin.
